Embracing one of San Antonio's oldest cultural influences, the Academy has taken the challenge of preserving traditions of both Mexican and Spanish descent. Entertaining and educating audiences of all ages, students participate in venues ranging from backyard birthday parties to national festivals and conventions. |

Brief History In 1994, "Grupo Folklorico Mexicapan" was born in the city of San Antonio, Texas. In 1999, Grupo Folklorico Mexicapan became Mexicapan Dance Academy and made its home in the Callaghan Plaza on the West side of San Antonio. Now under the direction of Mr. Victor Castillo Jr., the Academy continues its mission just minutes from St. Mary's University. |
